This site will follow a combined system of ranks and skill progression.
There are 3 possible ranks to be achieved in each bending category.
The only exception is Non-Benders with up to 4 ranks.
The general consensus with the ranks are:
Beginner
Adept
Master
For Non-Benders, this includes:
Novice
Apprentice
Skilled
Master/Veteran
This site will hold events and will hold a limit for EXP gains for skills/levels each month. The EXP limit will be as follows:
100 posts (per month) = 1 level
1 level = 1 skill point
Skill points can be used to increase a character's tier. After Tier 3 (or Tier 4 if you're a Non-Bender), there will be no immediate differences between tiers, although skills can be acquired after Rank 3 along with other bending abilities. For skills, its recommended to browse the Avatar wiki. Examples can be found on site if requested later on.
Skills are distributed per Rank up. Every Rank supplies 3 skills for creation/acquisition for all characters. Each character begins with 3 skills as they begin at Rank 1.
(All EXP gained per month that falls under 100 will be rolled over into the next month until it reaches 100. However, that will be it for that month if it rolls over.)
Ranking Up
When you level up, it costs a certain amount of skill points to advance forward.
Requires 1 skill point
Rank 1 -> Rank 2
Requires 2 skill points
Rank 2 -> Rank 3
Requires 3 skill points
Rank 3 -> Rank 4, 5, 6, etc.
Combat
Battling another bender or a non-bender (god-forbid) comes down to some simple guidelines. Or not, who knows; depends on the person.
Benders are allowed up to 2 bending (skill-related) actions per turn. If any bender attempts to bypass this rule they must take 2 posting rounds not bending at all.
Non-Benders are allowed up to 3 skill-related actions per turn. If any non-bender attempts to bypass this rule, they must take, at minimum, an equal amount of turns to rest due to fatigue or overexertion.
Otherwise, combat is more or less freeform.
